Listening Session on Research and Information Needs to Improve Healthcare Access in Disasters

  • Format: Virtual
  • Goal: To mitigate impacts on healthcare access and prevent disruptions within Cascadia coastal communities following disasters resulting from natural hazards.  The virtual forum will be space for Pacific Northwest coastal emergency managers, public health officials, healthcare coalitions, hospital emergency managers, healthcare service providers/administrators, transportation planners, local elected officials, public safety (police/fire/EMS), and community planners to share their insights and expertise.

Tribal Listening Session on Healthcare Access following Natural Disasters (Session organized by the RCN)

  • Format: In-person
  • Goal: To connect tribal practitioners and scientists interested in collaboration;  to improve healthcare access following major disasters resulting from natural hazards in coastal tribal communities
  • Date: May 12th, 2022
  • Where: A session within the Tribal Conference

DR2 Workshop  (Co-sponsored by the RCN)

  • Format: In-person
  • Goal: To bring together experts from across the Pacific Northwest to discuss research protocols to be used in the event of a major Pacific Northwest hazard such as earthquake, heatwave or wildfire smoke events.
  • Dates: August 9-11, 2022
  • Where: University of Washington campus

Coordination Workshop between State/Federal Partners and Academic Researchers

  • Format: Virtual
  • Goal: To connect researchers with state and federal agency partners to discuss plans for new geohazards research and agency priorities.
